Construction at PVL suspended

The library is CLOSED for construction. The library’s reopening date will be updated after the state mandate against non-residential construction is lifted and construction can resume on the library.

What is going on?
Perkiomen Valley Library is undergoing much needed restoration of the library’s exterior walls.
This is a very expensive and needed process to ensure the longevity of the library building.  Construction standards have changed since the original construction of this building in the 1950s.   Today, buildings from that era, including PVL, are having problems with bowing facades which causes damage to the interior structure walls.  This restoration will includes removing the rear wall and rebuilding it with steel supports.

Please consider helping to pay the cost of the library’s construction project.
