Volunteering & Community Service
The Perkiomen Valley Public Library has a volunteer group dedicated to promoting and serving the library.  Volunteers run book sales, assist with library programs and operations, and work on projects.

  • Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age.
  • Under Pennsylvania law, volunteers age 18 and older must complete a number of background checks prior to starting service. Completion of these background checks can take as long as 6 weeks. The volunteer must pay for a portion of the cost of these checks.
  • Volunteers must also undergo training prior to starting service.
  • Before they can start helping at the library, volunteers need to sign a Volunteer Agreement and Waiver relating to the COVID-19 pandemic. This will be given to prospective volunteers for their review once they submit a completed Volunteer Application.
  • Community Service requirements for school or other organizations, or for court-appointed hours can be fulfilled at the Library.

For more information, call the library at 610-287-8360, or contac Aileen Johnson.
